Why Scouting?
For over 100 years, our Scouting program has instilled the values found in the Scout Oath, Scout Law and Scout Motto. Today, these values are as relevant in helping our Scouts grow to their full potential as they were in 1920. Scouting helps develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.
Scout Oath
On my honor
I will do my best
to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times;
to keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
Scout Law
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
Scout Motto
Be Prepared.
(meaning that you are
always ready to do what
is necessary to help others, and you are ready, willing,
and able to do what is
necessary in any situation
that comes along)
