Become A Scout

The Scouting experience with Troop 50 is rewarding and will teach your child life skills. There is a purpose behind our program that emphasizes core values and skills which often results in good things, like learning discipline, making good decisions and creating leadership skills & opportunities. Scouting prepares your child to handle the challenges of life and we have a lot of fun along the way!

We are very proud that Troop 50 has had over 110 scouts earn their Eagle Scout rank since 1920! An Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program. Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a great deal of work and a lengthy review process.

Scouts must be at least 11 years old (or have completed the 5th grade) up through 17 years of age. Scouts elect their own leaders, plan their own activities, and execute those plans themselves with adult guidance and supervision. Meetings are held once a week in a masked, socially distant and safe environment.
